Trained by Sperry Univac to become a credentialed consultant to manufacturing and distribution companies. Over the course of my career applied those skills to assist and guide many firms in the use of modern technology to solve business problems.

Experience

2006 to Present

Projects:

·         Market development – Servpro franchise.

Owner had not established the franchise in his territory and required full time market development effort .

·         Develop kiosk applications for major Hardware store chain. Collaborated with national supplier of kiosk hardware and software applications.

·         Web Site development for small independent retail establishments

Formed Modern Retail Concepts to support business activities.

Retail sales: True Value Hardware of Miller Place (part-time).

1995–2006                  City of New York DOITT       Brooklyn, NY

(Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications)

 Managed the following projects:

  • Manager of Wireless Operations Business Systems – establish control of the rapidly growing inventory of cellular devices. Within 2 years this initiative yielded very substantial savings in direct and indirect savings for the City.

·         Project and Operations Manager – CityAccess Kiosk Project. To place mini-City halls in frequently traveled locations throughout the City. Managed all aspects of vendor selection, installation and acceptance.   Project included coordinating 10 agencies, 3 vendors, 59 locations, and 40 applications.

·         Project Manager FCC audit of 640 licenses held by the City.   Audit resulted in no fines or loss of licenses.

·         Managed recovery of 9/11 equipment issued to first responders on emergency basis during the time following 9/11.

·         Participated as a representative of the Agency during the 9/11 recovery and further OEM training and preparedness exercises.   Received individual and group recognition from the Mayor’s Office and DoITT.

·         Project Manager – Criminal Justice Data Sharing. This project provided a self-defining, totally self-contained method for criminal justice agencies to share data.

·         Owner and contributor to several City procurement efforts; RFI, RFP, Bid Specifications, evaluation and selection committees, contract construction and negotiations.

·         Received several Mayoral and Agency performance awards.

Independent Contractor

Technical and business consulting. Technical consulting to the Unisys Corporation and their customer, New York Department of Social Services, for the programming, documentation, and installation of Kiosk based applications for their clients.

Technical consulting to the Port Authority of NJ/NY to develop a specialized desktop environment for their non-technical users.

Two large state level projects requiring business process redesign and Document Image Processing solutions for vital records and correspondence control.
